Originally from Oregon and currently settled in Utah, I'm passionate about art and animals. My artistic vision is simple: create art that brings joy.
As a largely self-taught artist, I’ve been honing my skills for over ten years. You'll find my sketchbooks filled with all manner of scribbling, mostly inspired by the creation of the master Artist, Jesus Christ. I work hard to try new things and push myself to do the best work I can. No traditional art medium is safe from my curiosity—I have worked with graphite, charcoal, pastels, colored pencil, watercolor, spray paint, acrylics, and oil, as well as dabbling in photography. I've never gotten tired of the pursuit of beauty.
I also love animals. Growing up, my family had a menagerie of creatures on our three acres. I bought my first miniature horse, Waldo, when I was eight. My time working on a farm in Albany gave me a special fondness for sheep. Now I’m blessed to own a wonderful Quarter Horse, Texas Doozy, and an adorable cat called North Dakota (since there are 48 remaining states to name pets after, I figure I’ve a good excuse to acquire more animals).
My focus at Hoof and Paw by Hand is painting custom pet portraits. I understand the connection with special animal friends, and I would love to bring your pets to life in a one-of-a-kind way! I am happy to do artwork of any animal, with photo references to work from.
If you’re interested in artwork, contact me to schedule a commission. Capturing the likeness and personality of your pet is a challenge I can’t wait to tackle. Feel free to reach out with comments or questions as well. I would love to talk with you!
