ORIGINAL PAINTINGS OF YOUR ANIMAL FRIENDS

Custom pet portraits are created in several steps: First, your pet will be sketched from a collection of reference photos. Next, I apply washes of watercolors as a color base. Finally, I layer Prismacolor Premier colored pencil for detail. The art process takes 5-30 hours per piece, depending on size.

To capture the likeness and personality of your pet, I will need several high-quality reference photos (videos are also great!). Contact me to discuss reference material and learn more about what I’ll need from you! I am happy to provide photography tips. 

There are four standard size options for custom pet pieces at Hoof and Paw by Hand:

• 5"x7" Starting at $150. This size is perfect for a small head.
• 8"x10" Starting at $275. Ideal for a classical portrait or a full-body piece of a small pet.
• 11"x14" Starting at $435. Great for a full-body piece or a multiple-pet composition. 
• 16x20" Starting at $675. Recommended for equine art or multiple-subject compositions.

• For a detailed background, add $50. 
• For additional pets, add $90 per animal.

Please note: I request 50% of payment at the time of scheduling, when I will give an estimated completion date for your piece.
